Numtacos 0 Posted January 20, 2017 Just bought a new Lorex PTZ camera. Hooked it up to power and ethernet directly into router. Do not have a NVR, want to use SecuritySpy with the camera. Go into the router homepage, cannot find IP assigned to the camera. There were a couple of IP addressses I wasn't sure about, so I plugged those addresses into multiple browsers, but no luck. Tried different ethernet cables, no luck. Is the camera a dud?
jeromephone 6 Posted January 22, 2017 Do you have the default IP for this camera? I would set my computer to the same scheme as the camera and see if you can then log in. for instance say your home network uses 10.1.1.1-254 and the default of you camera is 192.168.1.50 set your computer to something like 192.168.1.66 and use the same subnet usually 255.255.255.0 YOu should then be able to see the camera in your browser or remote access program and set it to a static IP on you network.
