h20wakebum 0 Posted January 30, 2017 Hi there, I recently purchased a FLIR Lorex NR9082 4k NVR and wanted to run custom length cat5e cabling to my cameras. Has anyone done this and had any specific issues/recommendations? I want to avoid using a combo of 100' and X ' cabling as that will create excess cables sitting around. I appreciate your help ahead of time. Thank you, Robert
jeromephone 6 Posted January 31, 2017 You measure out what length you want then terminate on both ends either with plugs or jacks. Kind of how a building is wired with cat5/
rossko 0 Posted February 3, 2017 Look for RJ45 crimping kit, and have a few practice attempts.
h20wakebum 0 Posted February 4, 2017 Any specific diagram I should follow for the crimping?
jeromephone 6 Posted February 10, 2017 Yes look up RJ-45 A and B pattern Make up both ends the same. In this part of the country we normally use the B pattern. As the other poster said practice a bit as it is easy to flip flop the wires. http://www.cablesplususa.com/pdf/RJ45-Guide.pdf
