Hikvision DS-7200 series

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a hikvision DVR DS-7216HVI-SV which i got from a friend as a gift, i managed to get it to work except for app mobile application, because Hikvision now are using Hik-connect and it requieres a code usually found in DVR menu, in "Platform access"... which i don't have in my DVR menu, i can't find Platform access anywhere, therefore i can't have that code requiered to enter in mobile app to make it work.

I was thinking that maybe i need a firmware upgrade for the DVR.

Does anyone have similar issue or and idea about the reason why i can't find "Platform access" tab on my DVR?

Thanks!

You usually need the serial number and verification code to setup the Hik-Connect, flip the DVR upside down and hopefully it should be on the sticker at the bottom, if not, then you'll have to do what Securame said, however Hiddns is no longer available. Freeip is a free dynamic ip provider which you have to update every other month or use dyndns.org which you will have to pay for. (if you have virgin media broadband you'll have a static ip address)

Your probably better off not using p2p anyway .

P2p will most likely leave your dvr more vulnerable .

There are many free and paid ddns services available .after setting up ddns ,

Just forward the ports in your router that are listed in your dvr under network settings/port Tab to your IPv4 address listed in your dvr under network settings/general Tab.

You should be able to pull up your instruction manuel on the hikvision website to help .also you can check out portforward.com .they have detailed instructions on port forwarding for many routers .

Good luck

You can still use HiDDNS/Hik-online, or use any other paid DDNS service.

You will not be able to use P2P with this unit, it's an old firmware.

I sign up in Hik-online, but they removed the option for "add device", you can only modify existing devices you had before.

Thanks for your reply!

I found a free DDNS service, but i got stuck at port forwarding part, i followed the guide available in the website you suggested, but when i test if my ports i forwarded are open, i find them all still closed.

My router is kinda old, its Thomson TG585 v8.

What ports are they blocking ?

You can use different ports .

For example ,

Some isp's use or reserve port 80 .

Change it to 85 or to the next unblocked port .

You just have to change them in your dvr on the

Network settings page under the port tab

And dont forget to change the ports in the mobile app too .

Sorry for the late feedback.

Thanks,i managed to forward ports in my routrer;

I set up a free hostname offered by noip.com, but i didn't manage to make it work with iVMS4500 Hikvision app mobile.

Here is what i did:

On the DVR Network settings :

Please check attached screenshot (1.JPG)

On iVMS4500 app :

Please check attached screenshot (2.JPG)

I also tried ports : 80,8000

"Connection failed" is what i get.
