veronicastyles647 0 Posted February 6, 2017 We had a power outage and the Swann DVR when it came back on apparently reverted back to default settings. Before the outage it was set to continuous record and when it came back on it is now on motion detection. When I reviewed the motion events many of them seem to be working fine...recording all motion and a few seconds or so after. Other times the recording stops in the middle of obvious motion. The very motion that set it off in the first place. Can a power outage cause something on the hard drive to act up like this? I know very little about the technical side of this even though I have had MANY issues with this system since installation almost 1 year ago.
GadgetAssistant 0 Posted February 7, 2017 Hello. If the DVR reverted back to a factory default state after a power outage, it may be that the circuit board battery needs replacing. You might want to check with Swann if there is still a warranty to have them replace it for you.
