jsf721 0 Posted February 7, 2017 I need to get a camera 16 system, and I have had some people come in to quote and I am getting people telling me that a 3MP is all yo uneed, another guy saying if you want to see faces and license plates, you need 4MP. When I view the demos on line, I cannot tell the difference. I had someone rip my fence out and drag 25' of chain link off my property and deny it as the fence was tangled in his bumper. I need a camera system. How do you decide what you need, and what a fair process is? Looking for 16 cameras, 2 of when are out doors. One at a loading dock needs to view 50' (day/night), the other is a front door, not sure how to get a face shot ? the rest are warehouse and 1 in office. Looking to keep minimum of 3 weeks on the DVR using motion to trigger video (I think-is that enough to catch the action?) Also need remote viewing from cell/internet and ability to grab a clip and email it easily. I'm usually the type to really get to know the systems before I buy, but I am finding it hard to get an education as everyone tells me something different, mostly becuae everyone sells what they sell and its all different conflicting info. Where to start, and what to get. Thanks
mattaggie 0 Posted February 7, 2017 You are right that it can be very confusing and overwhelming because there are so many choices. If I were starting from scratch today, I'd get something like this https://www.lorextechnology.com/hd-ip-security-camera-system/surveillance-system-with-16-cameras/LN10804-1616W-1-p
