bazb 0 Posted February 8, 2017 Hi Guys, Ive been asked by a client to replace an old analogue coax system with a more modern hik turbo 3.0 EXIR cameras. I want to know can i use the cat5e cable (all ready in place) to power the camera as well as use the balun, or am i safer to install a new 0.5mm 2 core power cable to each camera? Securame 0 Posted February 8, 2017 If the Cat5E cable is good quality, you can use it for both video (one pair) and power (the 3 remaining pairs). If it is not good enough or the runs are very long, you can use the alarm cable for power. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
