cessna1466u 0 Posted February 19, 2017 A millions ants moving around is the best that I can describe it. I just installed these cameras today during the day and as soon as night time comes and the IRs turn on the screen appears to have ants crawling around. The first picture is with the porch lights on and as you can see it looks fine. As soon as the lights go off and the IRs come on the ants come out? The shot with the ants is not blown up, I just put my phone closer to the screen so that I can get a better shot. Now this is on a 37" screen and in single camera mode. Does this look like a problem with the cameras or settings? Or is it just that the shot is lower quality and once blown up to 37" the picture will show these ants. Right now it is set to 1920x1080 and the tv is only 720p.

prairietech 0 Posted February 20, 2017 The "ants" is a result of your camera trying it's best to produce a picture under low light levels. It's video noise.
cessna1466u 0 Posted February 20, 2017 Thanks prairietech so is there settings I need to change or is it just a problem with the cameras? This is a shot right now and as you can see there are still ants and the IRs are on, I can see them on through the window.
ssmith10pn 0 Posted February 20, 2017 If the IRs are on than the IR cut filter did not drop out. Go in the menu and toggle the camera from day mode to night mode and see if anything changes.
