starsky72 0 Posted February 20, 2017 We currently have an Apollo 8 Channel DVR, with a HDD that has developed a fault and is causing the machine to reboot quite often. I'm looking for a DVR to replace it, 16channel preferable to allow for expansion, but.. I have no idea what I'm looking at. Some DVR seem too cheap, others I get confused with the model numbers being slightly different when they look identical etc etc Any recommendations appreciated Stuart
starsky72 0 Posted February 25, 2017 So... Dozens of views but not a single suggestion on a replacement DVR?? All I wanted was a few pointers, so I wasn't buying blind...
tomcctv 190 Posted February 25, 2017 Hi. Have a look at the pioneer Quattro.... It is a direct replacement for your Apollo. The pioneer takes all camera formats.
DaleC 0 Posted March 5, 2017 Why not replace the drive? For what it's worth I just replaced a flaky Q-see with a Dahua oem non branded pentabrid from Amazon and so far functionally it's just as good at half the cost ($120 for 8+4 channel).
Cat-Camera-Man 0 Posted March 12, 2017 Agree on replacing the drive if unit is still OK. If looking for a cheap model I have been running a 16 channel Anran for two years without any problems. Just purchased a second one for a friend. Testing shows all OK. They can be found on Amazon and you will need a hard drive for that unit. It has a lot of features for a cheap version.
