fletch33 0 Posted February 22, 2017 first of all thanks for any suggestions and i appreciate the help i have a barn on a farm that i would like to have a motion activated camera for day and night that just records to an sd card. i have electric there and so i dont mind if it needs a receiver box but i have no internet available so just something i could check weekly or whatever if something were to go missing. i have not been able to find something that doesnt require a network. i guess that if i had to install a router with no modem i could but was hoping something existed that just did what i needed. thanks again Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
mattaggie 0 Posted February 23, 2017 If you find a camera that uses an SD card, it should work fine without a network. The catch is you need to view the cameras settings through a network to set up things like motion detection and quality, etc. So yes you probably should get a router that you can connect a laptop to in order to view cameras settings. Forget onboard SD cards. .... if the property has a lot going on around it ... you may need footage one day and find it over written Look for nvr with alarm input and hide that along with a gsm trigger to protect all camera cable and nvr area Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
