g4m3r7ag 0 Posted February 28, 2017 Hello, I have been researching some different options for some security cameras at my home and have narrowed it down to a couple of choices. I see a lot of support here it seems for the Swann (Hikvision) but I don't see a lot comments on the Unifi G3 cameras that have been recently released. I've come up with this list Unifi: Pros: Easy to use free controller software, built-in mic Cons: Non standard PoE, Cost more Swann (Hikvision): Pros: Cheaper AiO system available available from big box retailer, standard PoE Cons: Added cost and configuration of software (Blue Iris seems to be the common standard), possible firmware issues and security vulnerabilities With the above in mind, I do already have Unifi AP's which are wonderful. I also have server hardware and NAS storage already existing to run the Unifi NVR software. Can anyone add to my above lists or help with this decision at all.
