ghurty 0 Posted March 6, 2017 I am trying to put in a maglock onto an automatic sliding door. I know about the Time Delay Modules, however in this case I have another problem. It is a nursing home so it requires a delayed egress. Triggering I have worked out. But according to code, once the door is opened it has to stay unlocked until reset. With the TDM, it will automatically lock in a max of 99 seconds. Any ideas? Thank you
^Gecko^ 0 Posted February 6, 2018 Feed the trigger into an Altronix timer board and hook the output of the timer board to hold the slider input open.
Sir Flannel 0 Posted February 7, 2018 Add an Altronix RBST into the circuit if you can. There is a wiring diagram for a latching setup in the pdf aand you might be able to incorporate that https://www.altronix.com/library/pdf/installation_instructions/RBST.pdf
ssmith10pn 0 Posted February 8, 2018 What delay egress Maglock are you using?
jeffbouldin 0 Posted April 10, 2018 This may be late for this topic but for any others researching. The only way you can do a delayed egress lock is to purchase a locking system that was manufactured for this use and sent through a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory and that has been listed for this purpose. Using different parts and making your own is not legal. It is an excellent way to kill people, have your insurance deny claims, and possibly go to jail. I highly recommend you seek the help of a professional access control company.
