AnnieInCA 0 Posted March 17, 2017 Hello, I'm new here. I have what I hope is a pretty basic question. I have a Lorex video security system. The hard drive is damaged and doesn't operate, and the system is out of warranty. I'm considering changing to a wireless system. I'm noticing that many of them don't come with a DVR. My question is-if I replace the DVR in the Lorex box, can I use another company's wireless cameras? I know I will need the camera's wi-fi enabled stuff...but can that also be attached to the Lorex DVR with a new hard drive, and function properly? I don't have bottomless pockets, I was thinking I could save money buy intsalling a new hard drive into the Lorex DVR? It is for a wired system. Thanks for any suggestions or advice you may have!
