reset EH5801H user and password

Hi, I bought a used Avermedia EH5801H+ on ebay and whoever owned it before put a new user name and administrator password on. I figured out the user pass and can get in to some items but can't get into administrator system. I found if I hit the FN button 5 times a box comes up for 'Reset to Default Password' and asks for pin code. I have no idea what the pin code number is as I have tried dozens of numbers with no success. Default password is 111111 and I found 222222 got me in.

Anyone ever had to reset Aver DVR and have a pin number or know how to get it? I asked online at Avermedia but have not gotten an answer yet. I don't want to send it back to ebay seller because it is a nice unit. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks Tom, but the administrator changed user to OPERATOR and has a administrator password on it also. He/she made a user password that can't get in to system or recording. I need to reset to factory settings.

Hi Tom,

Anybody ever tell you you're a genius? If not, I'll tell you right now, you're a genius. Updating the firmware with USB memory stick did the trick. Brought it back to factory settings so I am able to get into it just like a new unit.

Nowhere on the internet does it say how to bring back an Avermedia EH unit to factory default. I hope this helps future Avermedia users.
