assvas 0 Posted April 7, 2017 Hello, There is a need to install an external IP Camera on a cargo ship, located outisde the bridge, providing realtime video feed HD quality, with night vision / zoom etc complied with maritime certifications/standards. In order to monitor cargo unload/load operations from Office personel remotely via web portal or mobile app around the globe. The cargo ship will travel to international waters, thus means 3g/4g SIM world wide solution will be used as back up and the main internet feed will be given probably via an Inmarsat VSAT Sattelite system, hopefully with an Unlimited data plan. Rest parameters are symmetric download/upload with CIR/static IP, a UPS and an NVR to make things easier and better. A Cisco 2901 router and a PowerEdge R420 rack server exist on board and POE will be provided to the IP Camera. I've been searching the net to find someone that has accualy worked with the following generic setup (IP camera&VSAT on a ship) to check feedback, but found nothing helpful or updated (recent). Also companies that claim to provide such solutions don't provide detailed info on their websites and ask for presentation in an effort to sell you their total solution. Also checked some optimised encoders (e.g TVI from Digital Barriers) or even open source like ZoneMinder. Anyone has done it or be able to provide help will be really appriciated, (e.g difficulties, do's and don'ts, detailed configuration used etc.) Thank you in advance.
