flipu2k 0 Posted April 13, 2017 Hi, I'm interested in using a camera with an SD card to hold the recordings in an area with unstable internet connection (and without an NVR). Ideally I should be able to watch the live feed as well as the recordings remotely when the internet is working, but the camera should record when it detects motion regardless of the connectivity. Would the Hikvision DS-2CD2032F-IW be good for this, or do you have any other recommendations? Thanks!
jeromephone 6 Posted April 13, 2017 I have used a rebranded version of the Hikvision domes with sd cards and they work OK. The onboard storage works and you can retrieve video without a NVR. In my case it seemed a bit trickey to setup recording and remote viewing but that could have been operator failure.
ee_guy 1 Posted May 2, 2017 Can you Record to the SD card in the Hikvision and also have an NVR Record? That way if there was a connection issue to the NVR you would have a back up on the SD.
