Build Surveillance Server

Hello!

 

New in this forum and the CCTV system. I read some info and test some CCTV (i think is some old stuff)

 

I want to build my own Surveillance Server if is possible.

Small setup:

12 IP Cameras

Cisco Switch 3750 24-ports

Firewall

PC: Intel Core i5-4670 @ 3.40GHz, 8 RAM, GeForce 1024GB, 10TB HDD

 

Need the software for manage, recorder.

I found this software: Samsung Smart Security Manager PROFESSIONAL

switch should be POE so that one cat5 cable provides power and data to IP cameras.

 

If you go with a good camera brand, you will get software free with purchase of camera. I use Geovision and it comes with software on CD.

 

Unless you are going to do other video intensive things with your PC, you dont need a special video card. Onboard graphics are fine.

 

For the processor, I'd get at least a 6000 series i5 or i7. Reason for this is so that you can take advantage of new H.265 models of cameras that compress video more in order to use less bandwith and HD space.

Yes the switch have PoE.

Ok change the CPU to 6000+ series

 

I like to do some thinks in the hard mode (like project to learn and take my time busy)

 

Is possible to do this
