Looking for a replacement of my AXIS camera

Recommended Posts

Hi there, I would like to replace an existing camera I use to monitor my living room, because the current one (an AXIS M1054) doesn't have the night view.

Specs are quite simple ....

- possibly in Dahua (but other brands are also ok)

- Needs to be placed on the top of a kitchen locket

- Needs to have quite good picture quality

- Needs to have a I/O port (my alarm system triggers the calera for recording on a Synology NAS)

- Needs to have a night view (in the dark)

My actual Axis camera specs are the following :

- Image sensor 1/4” progressive scan RGB CMOS

- Lens 2.8 mm, Horizontal field of view: 84°, F2.0, fixed iris, fixed focus

- Light sensitivity 1.2-100000 lux, F2.0

0 lux with illumination LED on

- Shutter time 1/25000 s to 1/6 s

- Pan/Tilt/Zoom Digital PTZ, preset positions, guard tour

- Video compression H.264 Baseline (MPEG-4 Part 10/AVC), Motion JPEG

- Resolutions 1280x800 to 160x90

and its current picture (area of monitoring) is the following :

Any suggestion or advise for a replacement of this axis camera would be welcome !!

I am not an expert so to be honest I choose the Axis for its look and not for its technical specs ...

The purpose is monitoring, I should be able to recognize someone on the picture and see what happens in the room at any time.

It will be connected to a Synology NAS.

Many thanks !!

Well, I will re-use the axis somewhere else anyway ...

and the quality of the picture could be better I think ... not sure if it is due to the specs.

I am not sure what Lens 2.8mm, F2.0 means.

Angle view I guess is important for me, Axis was 84 degrees as the camera is placed in the corner of the rooom and needs to take the entire room ...

So looking for a replacement.

Maybe this one ?
