zaq123 0 Posted June 25, 2017 trying to install a camera drilled through the concrete facade and hit a steel beam. there does not appear to be anyway to go under the beam or above. Any tips on drilling a hole through it?
TheF 0 Posted June 27, 2017 First: Don't. Second: Don't. Third: Use a drill bit that has specifications for drilling into steel. Ask your local vendor for advice which to buy. They are more expensive than regular drill bits but if you use a cheap one, you'll soon experience why it's worth to pay the extra bucks. Fourth: Use cutting oil when drilling steel. If your drill bit gets dry, it gets hot and it will break and you will have to buy a new one. Fifth: It's gonna take time. Be patient. Take breaks so not to give your self tendonitis. Sixth: Are you sure there is no other way?
Orange Security 0 Posted July 14, 2017 I would recommend checking with an engineer that the size of hole in the location of the beam isn't going to compromise the structure.
