Glenn54 0 Posted August 10, 2017 https://www.lorextechnology.com/search/?Dy=1&Nty=1&Ntt=LNR341C4BW* Hello to all. I recently joined up here and after doing research, decided on the Lorex system in my link. So far, I have plugged everything in and test run it inside my house to make sure I get the feel of it and everything's working OK before I setup outside. 2 questions I have so far is the Cat5e cable that I received is rated for indoor use. 2 of my camera locations will have about 20ft of cable tucked along my siding outside so I wasn't sure if I should be opting for outdoor rated cable. Also, 2 camera locations will not be under any eave or covering and I was wondering if rain sleet and snow might shorten the life of the cameras. Thanks in advance for any input
mattaggie 0 Posted August 10, 2017 yes get outdoor rated cat5 for the runs that will be exposed outside. The cameras you are buying are rated for outdoor use so weather doesnt matter, even if completely exposed.
