rizla 0 Posted October 1, 2017 HI A week or so ago I suddenly started developing a problem with my HiKVision DS-7208HWI-SH system and got the error beeps and couldnt see it by the app I connected a monitor to it and noticed the network informatio had been cleared and the input/output video mismatch error was causing the beeps my checking each thing one my one. I cleared that alarm and re-entered the data all was well for 2 days then it restarted with same problem Same again but I suspected maybe the cmos battery was going so I replaced the cmos battery for a new one and 36 hours laters I am getting the same problem. What could the cause for the system to keep forgetting these settings and loading the video input output mismatch error even when I have cleared the alarm from it? 51cent 8 Posted October 2, 2017 It may be getting hacked. https://ipvm.com/reports/hik-default-hack Block it from the internet and see if it stops. A firmware update may fix it, but there is always risk in that with Hikvision.
rizla 0 Posted October 2, 2017 Thanks. Updating the firmaware seems a highly convoluted process with needing extra cables etc etc I'll change the password to start with. When you say block it from the internet do you mean from the router or is there a setting I can change to do that? Presumably there is a way I can still access it over the home intranet in the meantime to access functions rather than having to get to the DVR and hooking up the monitor each time? You do not need any cables. http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/?dir=portal/Product%20Firmware/Back-ends/Recorder/DVR/DS-72%2073%20HWI-SH%20HFI-SH%2072HVI-SV%20DS-73%2081%2024-ch%2032-ch%20DS-7200HWI-Ex_C/V3.1.6%20build170613 (you need DVR-KN32)

Thanks for that - stick it on USB then run from machine. About blocking from internet I'm guessing I do that from my pc/router?
51cent 8 Posted October 2, 2017 About blocking from internet I'm guessing I do that from my pc/router? Yes, if ports are forwarded, unforward them. With Hikvision, it depends on the model/where you bought it. There are/was Chinese versions being sold by vendors on Al*express and eb*y with hacked to English firmware that may brick your system. If possible, get new firmware from the vendor you bought it from.

rizla 0 Posted October 2, 2017 PHEW! Glad I double checked. I was reading it as this firmware from here on rather than this one up to this point. Thanks again

It was installed by a security guy who does domestics in his own time and I recall at the time he showed me tge website/company he got it from so definitely not those sites Problem with unforwarding ports then us that the ivms app I use to check the cameras won't work, isn't that right? 51cent 8 Posted October 3, 2017 You would use the VPN secure connection INSTEAD OF port forwarding to access your system. Your app should still work. Hikvision is very vulnerable right now, so possibly new firmware will help.
rizla 0 Posted October 4, 2017 Right We're making progress - new problems now I flahsed the new firmware, added a strong new password added the new password t the ivms4200 software on the PC and my phone app Everything was working Then tried to update password on wife's phone app and it won't connect the cameras as I get error 153 which uncle google tells me is too many incorrect password attends on the username Checked back on my phone and the app wont work either now - same error checked on the PC (connected by ethernet) and it all works fine. How do I resolve this now please? I did reconnect port forwarding as I have no other way to check the app other than always going to the PC otherwise (I don;t have a vpn)
Securame 0 Posted October 4, 2017 You connected with a wrong password several times (your wife's phone), so you got locked out. Just set the right password on all computers/mobiles/whatever, restart the device, and done.
rizla 0 Posted October 4, 2017 Thanks. Waited 30min and they all started working. Right back sort of full circle to the initial error. With the new firmware it flags exception and error on the screen. Clearly when it reset itself it screwed up some video settings as I still have Input output video mismatch error I haven't a clue how I check what the mismatch is or how to fix it. When I turn the DVR it asked if I wanted to set resolution to 1086 x 1024 (something like that). The highest option was 1080p and there was a 720 p option too but I went for tge one suggested which was in between. The recording is set to "analogue " Where do I check what the video input and output is and how to match them? I vaguely recall the recording was set to analogue from the outset (I think!) but clearly some setting have been changed
tomcctv 190 Posted October 5, 2017 Hi. Sounds like it’s your monitor giving you the message
rizla 0 Posted October 5, 2017 No, as I only attached the monitor temporarily for set up - its normally connected to a TV and has been fine with that for ages but the alarm and this message only started with the resets. I've done a little more reading and it might simply be to do with setting a 4:3 aspect ratio resolution - will have a play and see if that helps

No, as I only attached the monitor temporarily for set up - its normally connected to a TV TV or monitor .... It's the same thing. But you have answered your own question.
