csumner2020 0 Posted October 13, 2017 Hello to all!! New Member, been lurking in the shadows for weeks though. I have been researching for weeks trying to access an http stream from my Hikvision Cameras that are connected to my Hikvision DVR (DS-7608NI-E2/8P). I have been completely and utterly unsuccessful. I have downloaded VLC media player because it supports network streaming to use when testing the different configurations of addresses that I have tried. I am really at a loss of what I'm doing wrong. My ultimate goal is just integrating multiple http feeds into a home automation dashboard. The dashboard does not support RTSP so I'm stuck with http and my understanding based on what I've read through the forum is that hikvision supports this. I've fiddled with some of the settings in the DVR thinking that maybe I have to enable this but I just cant get it going. I think it may have something to do with the Main/Substream stuff but I don't understand how. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
cctvnerd 0 Posted November 2, 2017 I'm not sure if that still works but try http://username:password@ip_addr:port/Streaming/channels/102/httppreview But first you need to change the videotype of the substream to mjpeg. And even then its like a diashow and no fluent stream.
