tuna 0 Posted December 12, 2017 I'm wanting to setup some IP Cameras and was hoping to do it with the powerline adaptors that run your network over mains. My plan was something like the following : 3x IP Cameras : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Reolink-Security-Megapixels-Support-Detection/dp/B01AL4GM9W/ref=sr_1_11 An NVR : https://www.amazon.co.uk/SANSCO-Standalone-Realtime-Surveillance-1280TVL-Black-4CH/dp/B00K8WWMT2/ref=sr_1_3 And then the appropiate 3 way powerline adaptors. However, I am not sure which powerline adator I need? There is a 1 to 3 way : http://uk.tp-link.com/products/details/cat-18_TL-WPA8730-KIT.html And a 3 to 3 way : http://uk.tp-link.com/products/details/cat-18_TL-PA8030P-KIT.html I'm guessing the 1 to 3 way? .. if so .. what is the other variety for? Would this work? is it a good/bad idea?

tuna 0 Posted December 13, 2017 Hi. Nothing you have listed is comparable with each other Why are you not buying from the uk The items I was comparing were the two powerline adaptors. Why aren't they comparable? will neither do the job I intend? Also, I am buying from the UK, the first two links were Amazon UK. The other two were links from the TP link website for the specifications?
AntonK 0 Posted December 15, 2017 I would not recommend powerline networking for anything security-related - multiple failure points and can not be backed up with UPS.
