meteen 0 Posted December 25, 2017 I just wonder if the cam DS-2CD2025FWD-I 2.8 I bought is an old one, and if it's possible to have a better light sensivity: - the packaging box of the cam states 0.05 lux @ F1.2 as Hikvision's site specifies 0.005 Lux @F1.2 - the new packaging box mentions "Ultra low light", that fails on my packaging box The date on the box is 03/2017, not that old. Should I try and buy a new cam for better light sensivity?
GadgetAssistant 0 Posted December 25, 2017 Hello. Cameras that work in low or no light conditions use IR LED lights in order to illuminate its field of view. In order for those LED lights to have an opportunity to illuminate the camera's field of view, there should be some sort of reflective surface within the camera's denoted field of range in order for the LED light to return to the camera lens. That range for your camera would be 30 meters or 20 if the area is really dark. Hope this helps.
51cent 8 Posted December 26, 2017 I don't know if there is an older model of that camera, but it should be the ultra lowlight one. Go into the camera config page and look at the model number there.
