voloftn 0 Posted July 29, 2006 I am a newbie to installing a PTZ. We have power running to our PTZ through the siamese wire that services it along with the video, which comes from the 16 port, 12 v power supply. Do I need to run an additional power line of 24v to the camera? The camera has a power brick that has 3 leads for power which converts it to 12v. How do I go about connecting it to power? I have a CAT5 cable I am going to use for commands. I seriously need some help this weekend on getting it running, due to a theft situation that may be occuring in the store. I appreciate any help. ezCCTV 0 Posted July 31, 2006 Please see the image below. If you have the top image, then you can run 24V over 2 core cable or using CAT 5. If you are using the version with a clamp i.e. 90 - 260VAC, then I imagine this will be mains power, not be be run over CAT5!.
voloftn 0 Posted July 31, 2006 I appreciate the reply and the help. However, I am still confused and I don't think that applies to what I have. The camera has a stand alone power supply that doesn't attach to anything other than power coming into it. Those diagrams aren't related to what I have. ezCCTV 0 Posted August 1, 2006 This was taken from the Merit Lilin PIH-7000 Manual. I suggest you call your PTZ supplier, or Merit Lilin direct, as their support is very good
