pash 0 Posted April 16, 2018 Hi i am looking for a cctv set up and was looking at the aldi one but someone has mentioned IP cameras are the way forward. A 2 or 3 camera set up is what i am aiming for but one camera will do for now and add later when funds allow night vision and motion detection would be great but i can put lights up Probably £300 max spend with all 3 cameras I dont know what i need so please can you include links and keep it simple. My house is a terrace. Thanks
povlhp 0 Posted April 16, 2018 You can get a £30-50 NVR, and OK quality Dahua or HIKVision IP cameras for £100/piece. So a relative simple solution is way under your budget. I have cameras on a Synology ATM, but have an el cheapo NVR on the way. But I am currently looking for something that are maintained, or at least designed for past-2010 computers (i.e. no ActiveX or other browser plugins, or Windows native software). pash 0 Posted April 30, 2018 HI this has been suggested is it any good and will i see faces at night? http://www.cctvkits.co.uk/hiwatch-by-hikvision-1-4-camera-4mp-ip-cctv-camera-kit-builder.html thanks
jeromephone 6 Posted May 2, 2018 look at a camera with on board recording some will allow a 64 gig chip or more. you should be able to get something with IR and that will eliminate the need for a NVR for just a couple of cameras. to view you would just login directly to the camera. To see faces at night a lot will depend on camera location and how well the IRs work.
