estim8tr 0 Posted August 4, 2006 Hi all - I Just joined your illustrious group today. And guess, what? I need your assistance already. I just discovered the world of DVR's and thought that this is one neat idea. So Did I research anything? noooo - did I ask anyone about them? noooo - did I do any kind of research before laying down some good old U.S.Dollars? noooo - so what I ended up with was a DVR Card, four cameras, hook up wire and some BNC to RCA adapters. Does it work? you ask... Nooooo - why not? Because I can not get any kind of tech support from the company based in LA. I want to get it to work, I think it's a great idea - especially for today's home owners. Upon lighting off the software, I get the message "Security Key not found" - I assume that this is something that can be fixed, but without their tech support, I'm lost. Presently I have a VCR shooting down my driveway - covering my one car that sits out. and the tape time is in the evening through early morning - but I am greedy, I want more. Is there any after market - generic - Software that can be used on this card? I can't even tell you the name or number - if it's not too expensive, I'd be happy to buy another card to run the cameras (they work ok- -hooked them up to the VCR) - If need be, I can pull the card back out of the computer and look for numbers or designations. any help would be appreciated. This may have already been covered by someone else, but I've not been able to find any references. Thanks for being here - and Cheers!
