I am just using 1-3 feet for each camera to wire to reach in a centralized power box. I am not worried about voltage drop, I was just wondering if it is safe to use the thermostat wire? voltage? according to the centralized power box, each channel is getting 2amp per channel. jeromephone 6 Posted June 5, 2018 It should be fine. I do not know your exact wire but looking online is see 18/2 rated at 300 v but I would look up a chart for your specific brand\mfg to be sure.
