jimmyruss 0 Posted July 15, 2018 I want to get a cheap outside cam that is wireless and has a greater distance from the receiver than most cams and has a RCA connection to plug into my tv and its the preferably way I would like to do it. I've got several cams that are wireless and they are crappy with alot of interference even at short distance. However, If there is no recommendations with that, what are some decent, cheap cams that are wired, have at least 60ft of video/ power cable (so I can plug it inside by my monitor) and has a RCA connector to hook into my tv. I'm not interested in ip cams online stuff. I just want to look up at my monitor screen and see who's at the front door. Thats all. Thanks
techydork 0 Posted July 16, 2018 I think if you want cheap and easy then a standard analog bullet type camera would be the best bet. We use quite a few of them here and have cables up to 150ft on some of them. We just order ours off of Amazon. They have a BNC type connection for the video, but you can also get an adapter to make that RCA. camera - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01420IG8G/ref=psdc_14241331_t3_B00RWO0DZ4 Power supply - https://www.amazon.com/EWETON-100V-240V-2-1x5-5mm-Certified-Transformers-Fits/dp/B01B2VGS7Y/ref=pd_bxgy_421_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01B2VGS7Y&pd_rd_r=181fdfe5-8924-11e8-80ac-3d674b63b869&pd_rd_w=dkYAf&pd_rd_wg=sS1Fy&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=3914568618330124508&pf_rd_r=5JN5Q8GQCY6V937PD8SV&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&psc=1&refRID=5JN5Q8GQCY6V937PD8SV Cable with RCA to BNC adapter - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0744F6CCJ/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?pd_rd_i=B0744C77TQ&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=1713835751726239774&pf_rd_r=9RPAZ4KAQK8TYJXKW9QM&pd_rd_wg=ffd8r&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&pd_rd_w=qWjj0&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pd_rd_r=4c00f8cb-8924-11e8-906c-89fc5d574e42&th=1 If you want a wireless camera that isn't IP based that could be tricky depending on the total distance from the base station to the camera and also how many trees, walls etc you have between them. the toss 0 Posted July 16, 2018 This is the problem with wireless. You can either pay big $$$ and have gear that operates on the licenced part of the spectrum OR use stuff that operates on the public access part of the spectrum the same as EVERY other public access wireless device known to mankind - a tough ask for reliability
