Kabigon 0 Posted July 20, 2018 I'm trying to decide which pair of bulk cables to buy. If you guys had to choose between Cat5e vs Cat6, which one would you recommend? My application is eight 2K IP POE CCTV cameras that will be less than 100 feet runs on each with 10-20 feet exposed to outside elements (I will purchase a CMR and CMX-rated cable from Belden or Superior Essex). Cat5e and Cat6 price is pretty much same negligible, and I thought Cat6 might have advantages such as "less crosstalk/signal interference" and "less heat output" but unsure if these claims are truly substantiated. The only disadvantage of Cat6 is the slightly larger cables, IMHO. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
