Chinds2018 0 Posted July 27, 2018 Hey all, I have a customer with 11 existing coax cameras however and require upgrades...they want to keep their existing cabling and require clear remote footage. I am thinking of the following options going forward 1) install a hybrid DVR system with new HD cameras with the option of installing additional IP cameras in the future 2) install an NVR and Coax cameras with an analog to ip converter Any help would be appreciated Thanks
tomcctv 190 Posted July 28, 2018 Hi. On existing coax I would just use cvi or tvi . They are 5mp now So no need for mix match of cameras
cctvman1379 2 Posted July 28, 2018 I've found coax to be fine for general CCTV and hd CCTV it will out live most people if good quality cable used and installed in the correct way or not outside unprotected in water etc
