efan 0 Posted August 31, 2018 Hi there, Hoping someone will be able to give me some opinion/recommendations around this...been trying to research myself but can only get so far! I'm exploring options for a residential CCTV system, want a hardwired HD stored locally to DVR, recording continuously-pretty standard stuff. One of the main criteria however that I'm really looking for is effective PERSON detection (as opposed to just simple motion detection) with IFTTT notification capability on a reliable app that isn't too 'buggy'?! I like the look of the technology used in Nest, Ring, Arlo, Canary etc.. but really don't want a wireless, cloud based system! I've I've used Canary cameras indoors and have been impressed by their Person detection. I've looked at HikVision and know about reputation for their hardware-but heard their app isn't great-don't know if the Hikvision tech can distinguish between People and Motion?
