Hi. That dvr is BNC connection (standard) if your having problems connecting then two things could be your problem.

 

Wrong BNC on cable end .......50ohm and not 75ohm which is highly unlikely

 

The other is you are trying to connect your bnc to a RCA connection...... your recorder has both.

 

Looking at your recorder from the back you should be connecting your bnc to the bnc on the far left of your recorder

The 4 RCA connectors along the top of your dvr are for audio

The video and audio inputs are easily distinguishable.

 

I compared the BNC connectors on my Swann system to those on the H.View system. The Swann connectors are bigger and the inner ring in the H.View connector is much thicker.
