koz 0 Posted August 17, 2006 Hi all, We have 5 DVR servers in one location that use GeoVision's GV-1480 (80 cameras total). We are planning to view the cameras in a security office that is located in the same building, but away from the servers. Question: Is it possible to run more than one instance of MultiView on a single computer that is outfitted with multiple monitors? If so, how? I am running into an error message that tells me "MultiView is running" when I try running more than one instance of the program. Goal: I would like to allow a security person to be able to see all 5 DVR's with as few computers as possible. Sure, 5 separate PC's with 5 separate monitors would work, but if there is another way, I'm all ears. By the way, we just finished building these DVR's and they are running great! If interested in hardware details, I'd be happy to post it here. Thanks, koz
kao 0 Posted August 21, 2006 Do you anticipate having a lot of activity needing to be watched at one time? 80 cameras is a lot to keep an eye on. One thing you may want to consider is setting up the Center V2 software on the office pc. That way the guard can see screen pop-ups when motion is detected at a camera. The observer can choose to keep watching that camera or the whole server if he wants to.
