6MhedyD4 0 Posted January 12, 2019 a friend gave me a hikvision ds-8166hdi-s. it appears to functional. it boots up and the vga display shows the cameras and i can get into the menu with a mouse. i set up the network so i can get to the web interface but i can not get past the login. i am beginning to think this interface is only going to work with microsoft internet explorer and i only have linux os. i tried firefox, opera, and chromium but can not get logged in. i also tried a serial to usb adapter on the rs232 port but i get nothing. i found the manual but it is next to useless. any advice is appreciated. firmware is v3.0.0 build 101016 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
