Sky66 0 Posted January 21, 2019 Hi, first I'm sorry if my post is in the wrong slot. I'm looking to install some outdoor motion sensor with Hikvision DVR ( DVR has an alarm I/o connection). Can I use normal Honeywell or Texecom PIR sensor outdoor? I know they are not designed to use outdoor but if I do will they work? If not then please can any of you suggest me some decent low budget outdoor PIR sensor thanks?
tomcctv 190 Posted January 21, 2019 Hi. Yes you can ...... also used texecom you need to silicon the lens cover
Sky66 0 Posted January 21, 2019 Thanks tomcctv can you please recommend me any Texecom pir sensor which will work better in outdoor.
tomcctv 190 Posted January 21, 2019 Is this for home or business use ...... if your looking for something to use which is better than motion detection on camera then any alarm sensor will do you just have to be good with a silicone gun. if your looking for better protection then GJD sensors are the best http://www.gjd.co.uk/products/security-lighting/opal-xl-gjd020 we have used the above for over 11 years both wired and wireless
Sky66 0 Posted January 21, 2019 Thanks, tomcctv it's for business. Gjd is a good and low budget that's what I have heard but the problem is a customer does not want to spend good money on sensors lol, therefore I have to find an alternative.
tomcctv 190 Posted January 21, 2019 Hi. We’re are you located ? for a business I would stay with the professional route. Like I said you can use £20 texecom alarm sensors sealed with silicone but I would only do this for low risk home use as it is much better than motion from the camera. For a businesshe he would hold you responsible if anything goes wrong in your case I would only look at gjd or redwall but you also have another option for around £40 which are beam sensors and will give you better coverage
Sky66 0 Posted January 21, 2019 Tomcctv I do base in Manchester, you are right there and I have already given me professional advice for use pro our sensor if he still needs a cheap option then he will be responsible for it. Anyway tomcctv I really appreciate your advice, it was helpful thanks
tomcctv 190 Posted January 21, 2019 So your only 10 minutes away from me. All you can do is try the texecom ... they do work They are only at the end of the m66 so worth the little drive to texecom
