Inkhead 0 Posted June 7, 2019 I'm wondering if the smaller cable, not the ground, is for power for the pan, tilt and zoom functions they might need more current than provided over the Ethernet cable or to keep noise away from the video feed. I'm looking to add a PTZ to my system and I've been searching for answers like what cameras will work with what systems.

1madmouse 0 Posted January 28, 2022 On my system , Lorex DVR LHV2008 it has a connector on the back for what should be 2 wires, a yellow Positive , and a green wire , Negative. it is for the RS485 controls for PTZ, my PTZ camera has the same wires coming out of it with the BNC connector and power plug. I can't control the PTZ unless those extra wires are connected. Oh and I had to run a separate cable for those extra wires. hope that helps.
