Gary F 0 Posted May 7, 2019 I have two different video security systems, one at home with a dvr and one at a business with a nvr. Both systems have experienced what I call camera dropout where "some" of the cameras go dark (black) and the only way to get them back is to shut off the dvr/nvr, unplug them and wait a few minutes and restart them. Then all the cameras come back normally. The dvr system with 12 bnc cable cameras has only done this once in the last 3-4 years but the nvr system with 16 cat5e cable cameras blacks out one or two cameras every month and has only started happening after 1 year of installation.
