rory 0 Posted June 19, 2004 Ok, I have a Camera that uses 12VDC (mini dome), and a Wireless Transmitter that uses 12VDC 500ma. The camera can use around 250-500ma. Can i use a single 750/1000Ma power supply, or even better, can i power at least one of them, maybe the video TX off of my Ademco Alarm power? See there is only one socket in the location, and its a dual socket, one is the plug for the alarm, and there is one free. The socket is mounted up high on the wall, so nowhere to put a power strip. Any ideas on this? Whether I burn up either of the camera or TX, no big deal, as they are both old and second hand, just dont want to start a fire! tanks Rory
qman 0 Posted June 19, 2004 You'll burn up the Transmitter, it just happened to me last night.
AVCONSULTING 0 Posted June 19, 2004 Maybe you could use something like this, you might be able to get 3 transformers mounted. This plugs into the outlet and you can screw mount it to the wall. http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Lite_On_Peripherals_12_Outlet_Rack_Mount_Power_Strip_with_Metal_Housing_ADBL_RS_1215
