diveinbc 0 Posted October 23, 2021 I have a question regarding POE camera systems like the EKI-K82D46, Amazon and also on AARTech Canada (I live in Canada) • https://ca.hikvision.com/en/products/cameras/value-express-series/value-express-kits/performance-kits/4k-nvr-value-express-0 • https://www.amazon.ca/HIKVISION-EKI-K82D46-8-Channel-Express-Connections/dp/B084ZWZ3SF/ref=sr_1_2?crid=UV0OPNGKAV24&dchild=1&keywords=Hikvision+EKI-K82D46&qid=1634934606&sprefix=hikvision+eki-k82d46%2Caps%2C225&sr=8-2 • https://www.aartech.ca/eki-k82d46/hikvision-ip-security-camera-kit-8ch-nvr-4mp-dome-cameras.html I live in a condo building that currently has an old analog security camera system (6 camera’s) we would like to upgrade. • Is this unit a good choice for a condo building? • Our current system uses an old Samsung DVR • For the video feed injected into the buildings cable system we have a CCTV 4CH Video Color Quad Multiplexer with Loopout https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006GVN1IA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 • Which is then connected to a vcom A2020 Agile tv modulator broadcasting on channel 116 connected to the buildings main cable system My question, how would I broadcast 4 camera’s (even though there would be 8 camera's connected) from the EKI-K82D46 onto one channel, currently broadcasting on channel 116 If it is of any help we have Shaw cable (Vancouver Canada), most owners now have digital tv and the digital channel for a security feed is 398 Thanks Steve
tomcctv 190 Posted October 23, 2021 Hi. You can make your upgrade simple or hard and expensive your links is for equipment that is going to make hard I would not look at hikvision at all I would also not go IP system ….. the reason being you already have coax cable ran …… you could upgrade all with just a few hours changing your cameras and recorder
