maverick1981 0 Posted October 27, 2021 Hi Team Members I have always faced the challange or you can say confusion between the Live bandwidth and Recording bandwidth of IP CCTV cameras. Example: I have 10 IP cameras recording @ 25FPS and 2 MP. And the bandwidth consumption per camera is 2 Mbps (assume) & Sub stream 512Kbps. So total bandwidth is = 10*2+10*512 = 25.12 Mbps. This is general way to calculate the bandwidth. My question is what about the live bandwidth as cameras are consuming some amount of data for live viewing as well? Do we also need to calculate the live bandwidth and add up in the calculation of recording bandwidth. If yes than how to calculate the live bandwidth and which case we need to consider the live bandwidth as well along with recording bandwidth. Please share your opinion on above Thanks AJ
Jasonlou 0 Posted March 17, 2022 you use main stream for recording, sub stream for live view, right? so no need more bandwidth. or use 3rd stream for live view, it depends how many live view you are displaying simultaneously.
