terence8888 0 Posted November 12, 2021 Hi all, I'm in the process of building a house and I would like to have security camera installed (by myself). The requirement is relatively simple: 2 or 4 outdoor cameras. The requirements are simple: remote viewing and some form of storage (onsite or offsite). Priority is simplicity and not too expensive I'm thinking of IP-camera using PoE. The plan is to ask the builder to run CAT5/6 cables from where the cameras are going to be installed to a central point (utlity cupboard). The rest will just be installing the camera and setting up the PVR. Am I missing something? Any recommendation for components to go with it? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks! tomcctv 190 Posted November 12, 2021 Hi going iP is a good option ….. I would also say at this stage of your build ….. run more cables to we’re you might need cameras at a later date …… or we’re you might want outdoor lighting as POE lighting is getting popular at the moment
