DamonC 0 Posted March 7, 2022 I'm a post-production editor for my day job, work with video and sound all the time in varied codecs, wrappers, compression, et al. BUT, when it comes to CCTV and the solutions out there, I'm eager to learn to a point where I can build my own system vs buying the pre-made solutions. Since I'm the nerd of the family, I answered the call and was tasked to install a PoE Swann NVR 8 camera setup in one house, and a LOREX 8 cam NVR in another home. I am underwhelmed by remote interface design from both companies but for a quick CCTV solution in time of need, they work fine for the money. The goal is the build my own solution for home. I hope by joining this community of CCTV nerds, I can pick the proverbial gray matter of you with major CCTV prowess. Glad to be here, looking forward to learning more.
