Backup Footage resolution

Hi there, ive been using a Floureon cctv system for years with no issue. A recent incident required me to go into the system n pull off some footage.

On playback all is good, fullscreen view. But when selecting the footage n backing uo to usb pen  the h264 and avi footage displays square and squished and not full screen.

Not great to identify issue or for forwarding onto police.

Any ideas? Ive looked at system settings etc but at a loss.
