Luah 0 Posted October 6, 2006 Dear All, I'm facing difficulties with my client's DVR together with a Netgear DG834GT ADSL/router. I was able to view remotely with certain PC. I had one in my office which reply a 404 error even though i'm able to proceed into the log in page. I had another laptop which giving the same 404 error, however when i install the software AP, it goes in for the first time. When i closed the software and reopen again, it gives error "login procedure failed". When i tried at my home PC, it works better, however, it takes a long time to load and sometimes it couldn't load the image and reply error of "Failed to initialize java" My question is, since I'm able to view remotely then it means that the settings are correct. mfuzzy 0 Posted October 13, 2006 since you are behind router and say you can sometimes, check the port forwarding and dhcp settings. if you want to always find the dvr, you need to have a static address. i've seen those netgear lose their settings. 404 error is page not found, sounds like it is dynamic address or routing issue. dvr should have private ip, some remote software have issues with NAT or when using public ip that does not match dvr's private ip. the login failure could be due to browser settings. i like firefox but find that ie works better with most dvr web servers. ge dvmre?
