NavyBT37579 0 Posted May 8, 2023 Greetings all !!! Planning on installing a Reolink 16 Channel NVR and about 10 4K POE cameras and maybe 2 wi-fi cameras. I would like to have 5 of the 4K POE cameras in my detached garage, using a Reolink POE switch. Have no ethernet out there, so was wondering if it is possible to use a quality power line adapter, instead of running a direct burial CAT6 cable. If it is possible, what brand and speed power line adapter do you recommend ? Attached is a rough diagram of plans, is this possible. Any help appreciated. I am not very knowledgable on this stuff, but motivated by cheapskatedness (if that's a word). Thanks !!!

tumblweed9999 0 Posted May 12, 2023 I used 2 of these ( earlier version 2.4GHZ) to connect a poe switch with 2 cameras in a remote garage back to the main building. 2.5 years and no drop outs. https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-NanoStation-Dedicated-Management-Loco5AC-US/dp/B081VRFK62
NowICU 0 Posted May 15, 2023 Thanks tomcctv and tumbleweed9999 for your replies. My budget is $1,400-$1,600 for everything, about 500 feet of cat6, about 10 outdoor cameras, 2 indoor cameras, the switch, and NVR, and whatever miscellaneous things I might need. Been looking at brands, Reolink seems to fit all the criteria. Want to stay within 1 brand as much as possible, do not want a frankenstein setup, and their prices are not too bad. Reolink products have a security hole it’s been going on for 3 years …. Why run your own home network into a China server i have not seen a reolink go past two years …. So your budget is just wasting money on crap
