Teq_Stinger 0 Posted September 18, 2023 Good afternoon folks! Let me start by saying there are several things I'm quite good at, unfortunately I can't claim CCTV to be amongst them, so please excuse any errors I have a TVT DVR with a number if cameras, inc 1 IP cam, all monitored on my PC using NVMS-1000. That part is fine. I also have Supercam Plus installed on my android phone and, in the main, it appears to work OK. Now the issue: While the app works well enough at home, and using my home wi-fi network, whenever I'm away (restaurant, hotel, etc) and using some other wi-fi (even a good signal) the app refuses to work. The server never seems to connect and the camera screens show "device off line". Clearly it's more use to have it working away from, rather than at home. Is there some trick to getting the app to work away from my home wi-fi? Thanks in advance.
tomcctv 190 Posted September 18, 2023 Hi it looks like your using the wrong app supercam plus is not TVTs app you need to delete that app and reload SuperLive plus ….. uninstall supercam first
Teq_Stinger 0 Posted September 18, 2023 Hi tomcctv, Not wishing to appear contradictory, I have to say that both apps are from the same source, though in my experience I found SuperLive to be the worse of the two.
tomcctv 190 Posted September 18, 2023 Ok did you scan or put the Nat code into your app or the iP address
Teq_Stinger 0 Posted September 18, 2023 I input the IP address.

Hi that’s the reason why you can’t get connection away from your local network. recorder settings ….. click settings bottom left…… then click network ….. then at the top of that page you will see NAT …. Click on that …. You will then see a qr code and under that you will see a code …… go on your phone or pad and replace the iP address with that code and it’s case sensitive then click save at bottom of app
Teq_Stinger 0 Posted September 19, 2023 Hi. I had thought about that but in the past that method more often than not resulted in the app not connecting and "device offline" being displayed. When inputting the IP address the app worked quickly. I can understand what you say, so tried again with NAT. Again it takes a long time, sometimes into minutes, for the server to connect & camera images to appear. Just a thought; would it improve things to change the domain, current set at Europe/autonateu.com ?
tomcctv 190 Posted September 19, 2023 Hi don’t change the domain it won’t help you which app are you using now ?
Teq_Stinger 0 Posted September 19, 2023 I'm using the same SuperCam Plus. SuperLive is far worse in my experience, and would never connect even on NAT. I did a chek while out today and the app connected over 4G, but it took a long time. Yes, it did connect where using IP address wouldn't but there has to be a way to get a quicker response. Ok we seem to be getting nowhere hundreds of TVT recorders out and I’m tech support also for my area yes 4g is slow but there are settings to stream faster yes your iP address works faster because it’s local (only on your network) so it’s impossible to connect with local iP when away from your system you also have custom settings on app to make connection quick and smooth also what country are you in …. It makes a big difference to the app
Teq_Stinger 0 Posted September 19, 2023 Not quite nowhere, at least via NAT there was a connection, albeit slow. I see in the app for Network Status 3G/4G is shown Disabled & 3G/4G IP is blank. I'm in the UK, that's why I thought a change of NAT domain might have an effect. What other app settings could improve things?

Hi there are only 4 people in the uk who can fix your recorder if you alter the domain …. It even has a warning next to it if changed the Nat is associated with that recorder you are only seeing a part of the domain (so as others can’t copy it) As far as uk so am I and you have the viper recorder this is an example of your domain N7D800xxxxxxEurope/autonateu.com so do not alter it
Teq_Stinger 0 Posted September 19, 2023 Ok I won't change the domain. BTW, my TVT model is TD-2708TS-C. While waiting I did a test. I uninstalled SuperCam & installed SuperLive. Incidentally, both apps are virtually identical in all but the odd colour sheme, though clearly there must be other differences as operation varies. With SuperLive, the server was still trying to connect after 4 minutes! It eventually did connect but when the app was closed and retried the same again. I reverted to my orginal SuperCam and, while not quick as with the IP setting, the server connected far quicker. You say there're other settings to improve things. What might these be? tomcctv 190 Posted September 19, 2023 I use SuperLive and have over 30 units on the one app each with 4 to 16 cameras 3.5 seconds and real-time …. Never in 7 years of selling TVT (qvis) have I had a problem so it shows your system has a settings problem or poor network go to recorder and list settings under record click settings click record icon click stream settings ….. on the left of your screen and list each cameras settings
Teq_Stinger 0 Posted September 20, 2023 It's clear what works for one may not work for others. That applies to many things. You obvioulsy prefer SuperLive, though the numerous adverse reviews would disagree. There's nothing wrong with my recorder or network, and as for "you also have custom settings on app to make connection quick and smooth", that has never been expanded. I think it best we leave it there. <end>
tomcctv 190 Posted September 20, 2023 Yes your right in every point and we should all ignore TVT first the app it’s not down to preference it’s always best to use what manufacturer says instructions from TVT including app manual for SuperLive plus http://en.tvt.net.cn/service/download197.html as far as listing settings of your recorder under stream settings to help with your settings……… simple task but instead you argue again ………. Two settings to alter and your streaming would work 100% better and your not interested in app custom settings….. what do you mean never been expanded??
