TMM3 0 Posted November 2, 2006 I was curious if any of you would know a good solution for me. Im looking for a standalone embeded DVR with loopout ports, that can store atleast, hopfully more then 500GB and those are the basic functions that I am looking for. I have found a couple but they are all more then $4,000, Im looking for something a little less then that. If you have any suggestions, please reply. Thank you very much -Tom
rory 0 Posted November 2, 2006 The brand names will be expensive, they are generally the better ones. How many channels are you looking for?

rory 0 Posted November 4, 2006 Most of the better ones Geo Vision, NetProMax, Video Insight, Iview, Even Digiflower and some others (i havent tested all so sorry if I left one out) .. some of the cheap budget ones are very crappy video, and most of those only record and view in 320x240, especially ones you pick up in places like Kmart, and those USB ones. Typically a PC based DVR will be faster recording, higher quality evidence sharing, and if setup properly can be as good as analogue, or utilize analogue to make the live view even better. It really depends what is spent, but generally a high quality stand alone will cost much more than a high quality PC DVR and most will require returns to fix small hardware or software issues.
