Stanislav 0 Posted December 2, 2006 It is incorrectly to compare Visio with VideoCAD (CCTVCAD). VideoCAD offers a lot of special CCTV tools including 3D modeling, image quality modelling, automatic calculation of view area projections etc. VideoCAD allows to choose the best camera positions, parameters and quantity. Visio is only drawing software. It is better to use VideoCAD along with Visio or other graphics software. Visio (or AutoCAD) is the best for consummation of CCTV project. But VideoCAD is the best at previous stages of CCTV design. I highly recommend the teaching articles "The principles of CCTV design in VideoCAD" for beginning work.
