I have done it on XP pro so I would assume it will work. I would never sell one to a customer though.

It should work but is this PC going to used just for a DVR DVR's do not like to do 2 things at the same time. If you want a PC and a DVR then run 2 computers. Nothing like crashing your DVR running other programs when you need it the most.
