Sherry_c 0 Posted November 28, 2006 Recently some of our customers asked us whether we provide security software based on Linux System. Because we don't know how about the market of Linux system, we can't decide to develop a Linux system security software at once. All my friends, how do think about this case? Thank you very much! rory 0 Posted November 28, 2006 I think it would be a good idea for all manufacturers to move away from soley relying on Windows, but we (Installers) will also need to learn Linux to be able to maintain the systems as we do with Windows based versions .. Thomas 0 Posted December 5, 2006 There may be a market but it has a lot of challenges: 1. Distrubtion method. Do you use .rpm or .deb? What about Gentroo users? Or do you chose to support only one distro? 2. Support. Tech support for Linux is going to be more expensive. 3. Tools. Linux is lagging behind some of the video things and would force developers to create those tools. I'm not saying it's impossible but it's not trival either.
